About Chiropractic

Chiropractic care is one of the largest disciplines in CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine).   The practice is a drug free, hands-on approach to health care that includes physical examination, diagnosis and treatment.  The profession focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health.  Chiropractic care often treats, but is not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms and legs, and headaches.

About Dr. Wirth

Dr. Wirth received his formal education in Canada, beginning with undergraduate work at the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Calgary.  In 1980 he received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Canada.  Dr. Wirth spent 20 years in private practice in Saskatoon, Canada, before moving to Big Sur in 1999. 

Dr. Wirth lived and worked at the Esalen Institute from 1999-2006, and held various positions in the organization. Through his employment and studies at Esalen, Dr. Wirth was introduced to many different forms of complementary therapies.  He studied Craniosacral Therapy, Esalen massage, Rolfing, Trigger Point Therapy, Reiki, and other energy therapies.

Although Dr. Greg Wirth began at the clinic in early 2009, he has been offering chiropractic care to Big Sur families since 2003.
